Frequently Asked Questions

Everything South African parents ask about our CAPS-aligned learn-to-read programme.

What ages is the programme for?

It's built for South African Foundation Phase learners in Grades R–3 (roughly ages 5–9), with a Reading Booster for Grades 4–6 who need to catch up on reading.

Is the programme CAPS aligned?

Yes. Every lesson follows the official South African CAPS curriculum, term by term.

Is it suitable for homeschooling?

Absolutely. The programme is self-paced and structured, making it ideal for homeschooling families who want a complete, CAPS-aligned reading path.

Can it support a learner attending a traditional school?

Yes. Many parents use it after school and over weekends to reinforce classroom reading and build confidence.

How long is each lesson?

Lessons are short and focused — typically 10–20 minutes — so young children stay engaged without getting tired.

How often should my child use the programme?

A few short sessions a week works well. Because it's self-paced, your child can do more or less depending on the day.

Are lessons available in English and Afrikaans?

Yes — you can choose the language that suits your family, with matching audio.

Can siblings use one parent account?

Yes. A parent account can hold multiple learner profiles, and the All-Access Bundle is designed for siblings across different grades.

How many learners are included in a subscription?

Each grade subscription covers your child's learning for that grade; the All-Access Bundle covers all grades R–3 plus the Reading Booster — ideal for families with more than one child.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. You can cancel anytime — there are no long lock-in contracts.

Is a credit or debit card needed for the free lessons?

No. The first two lessons of every grade are completely free, with no payment details required.

Does it work on a mobile phone?

Yes. The programme runs in your phone's web browser — no app store download needed.

Does it work on a tablet?

Yes. Tablets give children a lovely, large screen for tracing and reading activities.

Is internet access required?

Yes, an internet connection is needed so lessons, audio and progress stay up to date.

Can I download reports?

Yes. Parents can view and download progress reports for each child.

How do certificates work?

Your child earns printable certificates for completing stages and tests — a great way to celebrate milestones.

What is the Reading Booster?

The Reading Booster is a catch-up reading programme for Grades 4–6, building the fluency and comprehension needed across subjects like Natural Science, History and Geography.

What happens if my child is struggling?

Because it's self-paced, your child can repeat lessons as often as they need. For older learners who are behind, the Reading Booster provides targeted catch-up support.
