Saving Grace Education Group Launches South Africa's Interactive Learn-to-Read Programme

Saving Grace Education Group is proud to launch an interactive learn-to-read programme built specifically for South African families. It is CAPS-aligned, tablet-first, and designed to make the first steps of reading joyful for every child.

Built for South Africa's reading challenge

South Africa faces a serious reading crisis: the 2030 Reading Panel reports that roughly eight in ten Grade 4 children cannot yet read for meaning. Early, structured practice is one of the most effective ways to change that.

Our programme meets children right at the start — from letter sounds in Grade R to fluent, meaningful reading by Grade 3 — with a Reading Booster to help older learners in Grades 4–6 catch up.

Playful, interactive and screen-smart

Instead of static worksheets, children tap, trace, listen and speak their way through short lessons. Audio support means a child can hear every sound and word, in English or Afrikaans.

Lessons are short by design, so reading stays a happy daily habit rather than a chore.

Aligned to the national curriculum

Every lesson follows the CAPS Foundation Phase sequence, so what your child practises at home matches what schools teach — reassuring for parents and homeschoolers alike.

Key takeaways

  • A new CAPS-aligned, interactive reading programme for South African children.
  • Covers Grades R–3, plus a Reading Booster for Grades 4–6.
  • Playful, audio-supported lessons in English and Afrikaans.
